SAND RACE SKEGNESS ENGLAND
One of the very few racing meetings
held in England, other than Brook-
lands, this event took place on the
sands at Skegness on July 17-18,
1931, with prominent amateur dri-
vers handling the cars. Fast time
was set up by N. A. Carr, driving a
Bugatti, in the one-lap  Unlimited "
final, when he covered the one and
a half miles in 1 min. 35 2/5th secs.
The five-lap handicap was gained by
A. N. Spottiswoode, also on a Bu-
gatti, in 7 mins. 55 secs., running in
the racing-car class, but Sadlier Jack-
son beat this time in the sports class
with another Bugatti, clocking 7
mins. 13 secs.
