New die cut, dense 1/2" black matte faced fiberglass under hood insulation pad WITH REINFORCED FOIL BACKING for 2002-2008 Dodge Ram 1500, 2500 GAS ENGINE TRUCKS ONLY. NOT DIESEL
DOES NOT FIT NOT DIESEL. THIS IS MADE FROM FLAT MATERIAL. DIESELS HAVE COMPONENTS LIKE AIR BOXES THAT DAMN NEAR RUB THE HOOD. THERE IS NO WAY TO MAKE A FLAT HOOD PAD CLEAR THOSE ITEMS. YEP, PEOPLE KEEP ASKING.
This hood pad is our own design and made with heavy weight black fiberglass insulation specially made for us. Then we apply a fiberglass mesh reinforced, real aluminum foil backing. The backing makes the pad stronger and reflects the heat from the underside of the hood.
Comes with (12) OE correct round retaining clips (see picture).

This is NOT a molded hood pad like the original. It is a great, inexpensive, die cut functional equivalent made from firm, automotive spec 1/2" thick black fiberglass insulation.
The "other" hood pads being sold are 1/2 the density (weight) and are made on cutting machines that leave ragged edges and holes. They use
huge, round Chevy clips that hang over the edge of the hood pad.
